Something to hold you over

Well, since school is interfering with my time to pump out this next trance mix, which is almost ready, I have a few mixes to hold you over. The first is we completed a new mix in the Global Excursion series. For those unaware, a collection of djs from the tranceaddict.com forums do a mix together with everyone contributing a track. The other is something I did for my brother. It isn’t complete, as I have one more CD I need to mix up, but it is titled Vegas Knights. For the dedicated Derek Sanders listener, the majority of the track you will notice are on other mixes I have done, but there are a few nice surprises, and the track lists are refreshing, especially Disc 1. So head on over to the mixes section and grab them. I also recommend any of the other Global Excursion cd’s, they’re a blast!

For those of you bothering me about when I will release a new vocal mix the time is soon. There has quite honestly been very little in quality productions with beautiful vocals and meaningful lyrics. I have been collecting since basically Volume 4 and things are looking good, though it will not be as fast paced as previous releases. I am also just about finished with the tracklist for the next trance set, but I am deciding how I want the end to be.

Recording troubles

Right now I am having a hard time recording anything with equipment. The soundcard on my notebook appears to cut off a lot of the lower frequencies and I was never pleased with how my desktop recorded. I put an order in for an M-Audio external soundcard so hopefully in a week I should have the first my the many mixes I have planned for this fall out.

New Mix and Updates

First, I have a “new mix”. Though it has just been sitting on my desktop since February. It was originally meant as a gift, so the theme is pretty precise and not with my usual stuff. Still, it is a great set. It is actually two discs, one for morning and the other for night. Hopefuly someone gets some enjoyment out of listening to it.
Next, I do have two other CD’s ready, but they must wait until I get back to school. I found out that trying to mix without speakers is like letting someone type a paper without a monitor. Sure you will probably get most of it right, but there will be a lot of typos along the way. My time in San Diego is coming to a close, and in two weeks I head back to Auburn to finish my school. Though, from the looks of things I will be back out here to work for this same company, that is if they give me an offer I can work with.

New URL, Info

Well, my old domain got hi-jacked, which is not a bad thing, except getting everything back in order on this one has been a pain. It has been a while since I even touched my decks, and with work I am lacking time to get anything done. Not to mention I don’t have any speakers here in San Diego, but I have four CD’s pretty much ready to be mixed, so I will get them done sometime before summers end, if not, then look forward to a magnificent fall.

I have been working on a few mixes. One is a nice 2 1/2 hour mix that I just did on the whim one day while messing around. It turned out pretty good, but I decided to work on it a little more. It has some really new tracks on it as well as some tracks from quite a few years ago.
At the same time I have in the works a new Cant Stop Ravin for the people who like the harder and faster trance, and ofcourse I have a normal mix, which as my friend Jeff described as “Philosophical”, thanks Jeff.
